Last Friday, we attended the prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the 2012 Nikon & Orms School’s Photography Competition. The competition aims to promote great photography at a young age in partnership with high schools in the Cape Town metropole.
The top prize consisted of a Nikon D3100 kit and backpack worth R10,000, as well as an A3 Diasec print of the winning image. The runner-ups also received prints of their photos, as well as gift bags from Nikon SA, while quarterly winners received Nikon Coolpix compact cameras.
Lelie Hannam from Westerford High School’s beautiful photograph below took the top honours of 2012:
